Wednesday Music

I loved this article about the Alabama Shakes. It made me want to re-listen to "Hold On"(above) and get excited for their new album, "Sound & Color" which comes out next month.

I'm desperate for new music these days!

International Women's Day

The day sort of got away from me, and I only realized it was International Women's Day a few hours ago. I've been scouring the internet for a good poem or quote, but can't find one that seems just right.

So, I've stopped looking for quotes and am now listening to Ani Difranco. I forgot how much I love her. Here's one of my faves if you care to have a listen:

Thursday Covers: Siblings Performing Together

Do you watch Nashville?

I have been a fan of Lennon and Maisy for a while. heard this song a few weeks ago. Catchy and fun.

Also, if you haven't seen the below, it's worth a watch / listen:

Music for a Wednesday

I was so excited to hear "Sagres", the new song from The Tallest Man on Earth, on NPR. I also love this. Both are worth a listen if you have time.

Music for a Tuesday

I've been in an Official Music Rut lately. Then, a friend recently told me about Gregory Alan Isakov's album, "The Weatherman". The whole album is beautiful.

I love this quote about the album title:

"To me, the idea of a weatherman is really powerful. There's a guy on television or on the radio telling us the future, and nobody cares. It's this daily mundane miracle, and I think the songs I chose are about noticing the beauty in normal, everyday life."

Any other musicians I should be checking out? Suggestions welcome! I've been listening to this one on repeat.

Monday Song

I've been in a bit of a music rut lately, so have been trying to remedy that. What are you listening to these days?

I've had this song by the Dodos on my iPod for a while, but am really enjoying some of their other stuff as well, especially as a friend recently re-recommended them:

Song for the weekend

I am still loving Boy and Bear, who I also mentioned in this post. I've been listening to this song on repeat all week:

Song for the Weekend

Do you know the band Boy & Bear? I just read about them, and am loving this song, which appropriately (for the weekend) is called Rabbit Song:
